Oliver Reid BEng (Hons) – Operations & IT Director

Oliver first started work for Richards Gray in 1991 during his summer holidays while studying at University in Portsmouth. By the time he graduated in 1995 with a 2:1 in Civil Engineering, he had identified the potential at Richards Gray and put a proposal forward to Mike Richards.

The skills gained in marketing with British Telecom and sales with Herion and DTS Communications prior to his university studies now stood him in good stead and the business went from strength to strength.

With this success came the inevitable issues associated with the management of growth, and more and more of his time was being dedicated to the procedures, processes and IT development.

In 2000 Oliver took over Operational responsibilities with first class customer service being his key goal. This he has achieved through the continued development and improvements to our IT systems, individual training and attention to detail. He has also managed the development of a bespoke integrated order processing database and our Online ordering facility, and is always looking for means of improving turnaround times and our service levels.

Outside of work, although no longer fit enough to play Oliver still enjoys watching Rugby and is a keen supporter of Henley Rugby Club. He can also be found gracing the tennis courts of South Oxfordshire representing Goring Tennis club. He also has a love of the countryside and is an average yet enthusiastic fly fisherman with a dream of one day catching a double figure sea trout.
